How can I set up a custom domain name/web address for my property website?

What is a domain name/web address?

A domain name is a unique web address or URL for your property website. An example would be https://www.1122mainstreet.com.

Why do domain names/web addresses matter?

Web addresses (also known as domain names) are great for marketing your listings. They should be easy to remember, easy to share, attract leads, and impress home sellers all at the same time. Sellers will love that their home has its own website and web address.

Choosing a simple, easy-to-remember domain name/web address (like 1122mainstreet.com) is important. This is because the domain name/web address is the #1 way people learn more about your property. Your domain name/web address will automatically be displayed on all of your other listing materials including sign riders, PDF flyers, mobile websites, text messaging, and much more.

Can I set up a unique domain name/web address for my property website?

Yes. You can set up your SPS property websites with custom domain names (like https://www.1122mainstreet.com). You can also use a free SPS subdomain or use a domain name/web address you purchased in the past.

How do I change the domain name/URL for my property website?

  1. Sign in to your SPS account. You can also reset your password if you have forgotten it.
  2. Choose the property website you would like a custom domain name/web address for in the “My Sites” section.
  3. TURN ON (publish) your desired property. You may need to set up a subscription if you have not, already.
  4. Click the “Edit & Promote” link to the right of the property.
  5. Click the “Domain Name” option in the right hand column of the ‘Edit & Promote’ page and follow the simple setup instructions.

SPS Tip:

Whenever possible, choose a custom domain name that is based on the address of your listing (like www.1122MainStreet.com). This will impress sellers, attract more leads, and make it easier to market your listing online and on your sign riders and printed materials.
